His father\, a 26-year Air Force veteran\, is from Mexico\, Missouri. Ray’s mother is now a very proud naturalized citizen\, originally from Corby\, England. He comes from a military tradition on both sides\, which influenced Ray to begin his military career and to serve for over 20 years in the Army. His grandparents also nurtured his passion for studying history\, nature\, and community service. After retiring from the military\, Ray served as a park ranger for North Carolina State Parks and Tennessee State Parks\, as an Anti-Terrorism Program Manager\, and also worked as an Education Specialist for the National Park Service. A federally recognized member of the Chickasaw Nation\, Donna holds a Master’s in Anthropology with an emphasis in Archaeology from the University of Mississippi\, where she researched historic Chickasaw communities and identified over 18\,000 trade beads. Her career spans roles with the National Park Service\, Missouri State Parks\, and as an adjunct anthropology instructor. Donna’s work at the Felix Valle State Historic Site sparked a love for French colonial history\, which she continues to explore through genealogy\, reenactments\, and basket weaving with her husband\, Doug. Though retired\, Donna remains actively engaged in historical research and interpretation from her home in Ste.
