SUMMARY:Book Signing by Joan Haake Koechig
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, February 26\, 2025 Book Signing by Joan Haake Koechig 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Historical Society at 101 S. Main St. St. Charles Mo. 63301at St. Charles County Historical Society Archives101 S. Main St. St. Charles\, Mo 63301Genealogical Legalis: Biographical Sketches of Prominent Missouri Legal Officials 1805 to Present DayThis book includes historical profiles of the 59 individuals who served as Attorney General/Circuit Attorney/Prosecuting Attorney for what became St. Charles County from 1805 until the present day.The profiles tell of the lives of the people in the context of history and what was going on not only locally but also on a state-wide and national level. Read about:• how large the circuit or area was with many counties that was the responsibility of the legal official during different periods of time• duels that were fought even though such behavior was against the law• the many states that these individuals came from with many staying in the area and living out their lives• where these public servants were buried• how so many people had to have known the other- for example\, one man’s daughter was the second wife of another man who served as Circuit Attorney who served years later• and some rose to prominence- a cabinet member in Abraham Lincoln’s administration The records held at the St. Charles County Historical Society provided a great deal of information about these legal officials.$27.50 including taxDownload: Book Signing
